PeopleAdmin leads the way at national higher education conference to help talent management demonstrate its strategic value

The growing talent management software company introduces the tools, insights and data that colleges and universities need to strategically advance their institutions’ missions

Washington, D.C. — Sept. 23, 2016 — PeopleAdmin, a leader in talent management software for education, announced it will introduce at the CUPA-HR Annual Conference & Expo new tools to further help colleges and universities acquire, develop and manage faculty and staff — including onboarding them — and ways to improve return on investment when using today’s leading talent management solution.
The company is also expected to release during the Sept. 25-27 conference its 2016 Higher Education TalentIndex, an annual report that provides talent management data, insights and predictions from nearly 400 higher education professionals.
“We invest a tremendous amount of time, effort and money in recruiting for faculty positions, and we want to make sure we’re out there with everybody else, doing the same thing,” said Ann Marie Coleman, assistant vice president of HR, University of Rhode Island. “Sharing this data and drilling down to see how it affects our individual institutions would be very helpful, for me and for our continuing discussions with the provost on how we move the president’s vision forward.”
According to PeopleAdmin CEO Kermit Randa, the company recognizes that now, more than ever, faculty affairs officers, human resources teams, and other departments concerned with hiring need an array of data, strategies and tools to help them advance their academic and business missions.
“We are using surveys, data, research and partnerships to take the most trusted, widely used talent management solution in higher education, SelectSuite, and make it even better and easier to use,” Randa said.
For example, he said, the 2016 Higher Education TalentIndex shows the growing importance of onboarding. In 2015, when asked to prioritize the talent management activities that most need improvement, colleges and universities ranked onboarding second to last. This year, they identified improved onboarding as the No. 1 priority.
That’s why PeopleAdmin, a top sponsor at the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources event, has collaborated with the higher education organization to offer a new onboarding tool, the CUPA-HR Onboarding Checklist. Available as part of Onboard — a PeopleAdmin solution that automates the technical aspects of onboarding — this comprehensive list helps ensure a positive first impression for higher education employees with a checklist of more than 25 critical new hire onboarding tasks.
In addition to Onboard, PeopleAdmin this year introduced significant improvements and new capabilities to SelectSuite, which is built uniquely for higher education.Part of those improvements include SelectSuite Analytics, which provides easy access to actionable insights into the recruiting process and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and SelectSuite Records, a solution to help manage crucial documents and streamline and automate the processes around adjunct reappointments, faculty contracts and personnel action forms.
Demonstrations of both of these new tools, and more — along with customer-led presentations on hot topics such as diversity through analytics, employee development, and strategies to ignite positive change — will be offered at the conference. Participating PeopleAdmin customers include the University of Pittsburgh, Georgia Southern University and Villanova University.
Also, PeopleAdmin will distribute a new study, conducted by Hobson & Company, a third-party research organization, that found SelectSuite delivers a quick and compelling (ROI). The study is based on in-depth interviews with higher education institutions.
By using SelectSuite, the report says, a typical organization can see benefits exceed $1 million — all while meeting the challenges inherent in faculty and staff recruiting, search committee management, onboarding, position description management, recordkeeping, performance management and reporting.
Hobson & Company specifically calls out a 72 percent gain in productivity and a 28 percent cost savings.
PeopleAdmin serves more than 5,000 schools, school districts and universities, and has helped acquire, develop and manage 46 percent of all educators and administrators, who in turn impact the lives of more than half of all students in the U.S. and Canada.
